Graphics and Sound 9/10
Fortnite features its own visual style that has already become somewhat iconic since the release. While other popular Battle Royale projects tend to make their graphics more realistic, Fortnite aims for almost opposite effect. The game looks cartoonish and borderline silly, but that’s what helps Fortnite create its own unique atmosphere. The sound effects match that atmosphere perfectly, allowing you to have a lot of fun without getting too serious.
Controls 8/10
Comfortable controls are one of the most important things for every action game, and Fortnite seems to provide players with an intuitive controls system. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing it on iPhones or an iPad – the shooting button conveniently moves around the screen, following your thumb. The camera is rather sensitive, and the interface is informative, so you can play this version of Fortnite easily – almost like if you were using your PC.

Fortnite is one of the most influential games for the entire Battle Royale genre since it helped define the overall set of rules we now associate with such games. The basics are simple: you and 99 other players get parachuted onto a vast island to fight free-for-all for scarce gear. The map is huge – but it shrinks to bring players closer together, so the game is actually rather dynamic. Fortnite requires precise shooting and smart tactics, but there is also a building aspect that allows you to create complex structures on the battlefield to hide from enemies or get a better position.
Lasting Appeal 10/10
Fortnite is definitely built to last. Even the basic rules make sure you’re going to replay the game again and again, striving to become the last one standing – and let us assure you, that really feels great. And it gets frequent updates that add new modes, events, weapons and items, customization options, and so on for you to play with. Even if you’ve played the game a hundred times, there’s something new for you in it anyway, and that’s why Fortnite is so addictive.
