Design and Usability 8 / 10
The developers have intuitively made Canon's PRINT application, removing unnecessary details and bright background color from the interface. The menu pages have a white background with dark contrasting text fonts. Information can be read easily despite the small font size. Some information is displayed with infographics (for example, the level of ink residue). For a long time of using the application users do not experience failures or glitches in usability, which is confirmed by hundreds of positive reviews.
Key Functions 9 / 10
The main purpose of the Canon PRINT application is to control the printing process on PIXMA, MAXIFY, Compact Photo Printer (some models). For a full list of models (over 50), visit the Play Market or App Store download page.
The main functions:
-
Print documents and photos directly from your mobile device;
-
Edit images and documents before printing using the built-in editor;
-
Scanning documents.
It is much more convenient to manage printing from your smartphone. You can print documents remotely without connecting your mobile device directly to the printer (using Bluetooth wireless communication).
The application supports the PIXMA Cloud Link service, where you can download documents from any device, including computers. You can then print documents directly from the cloud without downloading files to your mobile device.
If necessary, you can take a picture of a document or something to print on a connected printer.
Security 9 / 10
The Canon PRINT application asks you to access your smartphone camera, nothing more. Developers do not receive information about user contacts. Therefore, the transfer of personal data from your smartphone through this application is not permitted.
Bottom Line
Canon PRINT's developers are following trends and making printing more accessible, faster and more convenient. You can now print documents wirelessly from your smartphone, with access to Canon's cloud-based file storage service. Many users will also enjoy the built-in photo editor.
